Air France-KLM board approves suspension of talks with Alitalia

Air France-KLM said in a statement that its board has approved suspension of talks with Alitalia. It further said that it was now up to the Italian carrier's unions to spell out their vision of the embattled airline's future.

Italian flag carrier, Alitalia, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, is scheduled to hold a board meeting on Tuesday and meet with its unions on Wednesday.

Trading of Alitalia shares was suspended last week.
