Hyderabad: To consolidate and expand operations in India, ADP Inc, a Fortune 200 company and one of the largest providers of computerised transaction processing, data communications and information services in the world, has announced the setting up of its global technology centre (GTC) in Hyderabad.

In Hyderabad, ADP will offer crucial and mission critical service and support to over 500 clients globally.

Explaining the decision to set up its GTC in India, ADP vice-president and general manager (CRM) Malcolm Thorne says: "India has all the advantages  —  location, quality manpower, time-zone differential, higher productivity, IT infrastructure and supportive regulatory environment. All these factors compelled ADP to expand our India high-technology backbone operations."

Expansion plans
As part of its expansion plans, ADP is setting up a 40,000 square foot facility, which is located in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, at a cost of $2 million. Equipped with a 2 mbps international private leased line circuit (IPLC) link direct to the US and a 2 mbps Internet bandwidth, the new facility will provide world-class working environment and facilitate direct client interaction through excellent voice infrastructure. The new facility will be operational from July 2003.

Says ADP director (technical services and operations) Ayush Maheshwari: "Our primary focus will be to expand utilisation across several areas of our business to improve time-to-market, service levels quality, and quality of life for our associates. This expansion is keeping in line with ADP's firm-footed approach towards establishing and growing its businesses worldwide. The Indian operations will see a steady growth over the next few years."
