iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus users who find their phone tends to shut despite displaying a full battery, should take it as a sign of a bug that does not update the phone's battery meter.

"Apple is aware of this issue and is investigating the cause and a solution," according to a message posted on the company's website.

The bug shows up when users change the time on their phone manually or move to a different time zone.

Though the bug would be corrected through future software updates, Apple has posted step-by-step instructions as to how users could adjust their phone to accurately gauge if their battery was running out. The matter can be quickly fixed by first, restarting the phone, and then choosing 'General' in their Settings, and then going go to "Date & Time", making sure "Set Automatically" was activated.

Apple users could expect to receive more updates  soon, with the arrival of the iOS 9.3. Currently only developers had the latest version of Apple's operating system.
