Apple Inc is gearing up for the largest initial production run for its next iPhones by the end of the year, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Suppliers would need to manufacture 85 million to 90 million units of two new models with 4.7-inch display.

In its initial production run so far Apple had ordered 70 million to 80 million of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus last year.

The new phones would also come with Force Touch technology capable of distinguishing between a light tap and deep press.

According to the report, the information about orders came from Apple suppliers.

In a report last month, Bloomberg said suppliers had started initial production of iPhone models with Force Touch, a technology already in use in Apple Watch and MacBook laptop.

The screen sizes are the same as in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and Apple was also able to maintain the screen resolution, the Journal said.

Apple was also considering a third assembler, Taiwan-based Wistron Corp to help produce the new phones, according to the paper. Apple last year, relied on Hon Hai Precision Industry Co and Pegatron Corp.

Meanwhile according to some experts, the top reasons to love the iPhone 6 despite the impending iPhone 6s are:

Price reduction
Users who are on a two-year carrier agreement, will be able to buy the iPhone 6 which retails at $199.99 for less. Off contract prices for 16GB version are $692, while 64GB and 128GB versions are priced higher. Users on contract would be able to get the 64GB iPhone 6 for the price of 16GB, while off-contract users would pay $100 less for 64GB. Also with prices falling users would be able to buy a higher storage version paying the same price they paid for the smallest model.

The Retina Display
Apple's Retina Display was stuck at 640p screen resolution, but the company had now increased the iPhone 6 resolution to 750p (slightly better than 720p). This meant that the viewing experience was better than it had ever been on the iPhone.
