To many people $899 for an 11-inch MacBook Air would be way over the limits but if they would consider the quality hardware and software provided by Apple, and the greatly improved battery performance, they would surely do a rethink.

According to commentators, one of the best features of the  MacBook Air was that the 1.4 GHz processor could be boosted up to 2.7 GHz.

However, what does not add to the MacBook Air's appeal, is the fact that with the increase in memory and size, the price goes up to $1199 and though the device boasts some great features, it has no cooler to cool the processor. This means, one should avoid using the device on a soft pillow or on any such soft surfaces as it could block the airflow under the laptop!

The MacBook priced at $899 is one of the best and the lightest laptops produced by Apple, or any other brands, according to experts.

With the PC market demand declining over time, Macs had outperformed the PC for some time in the sales department.

The last quarter had seen Apple notch 4.1 million units sales, up 5 per cent as against the sales of same quarter of last year. The overall computer market had, however, declined 4 per cent year-on-year basis.

The Haswell processors of the 11-inch and 13-inch models would now come with revamped speed. Both the MacBook Air models would now  come with a 1.4GHz Core i5 processor, an upgrade over the 1.3GHz Core i5 processor in the existing models.

Apple has however, retained the rest of the configuration with both models featuring 4GB RAM. According to experts, an 8GB RAM would have been highly appreciated. However, people who  need more RAM could get it by paying more.

Both MacBook Air series models are on offer in two variants; 128GB and 256GB. Experts say that Apple users would have been delighted to  Thunderbolt 2 connectivity port, which was still available only in the MacBook Pro and Mac Pro desktop.

Apart from the configuration update, Apple had also added other features by way of a $100 price cut, even the 13-inch model they would come for $999.
