Air India to fly new Boeing 777s on long distance routes

Air India will now fly its new B777 Boeing acquisitions in its winter flying schedule beginning 25 October.

Also on the cards are daily flights between Kolkata and Washington beginning 1 December.

A spokesman or Air India said the B777s will be deployed on all its seven West-bound destinations in Europe, the US and Canada. They will also be used on the route to Tokyo.

Currently the B777 is in use on the routes to Chicago, New York, Frankfurt and London.

Air India is going to induct 111 new planes and has already received 64 of these so far.

The airliner has re-planned its winter schedule to offer better service to the passengers on both domestic and international routes, the spokesman added.
