The BPO arm of Infosys Technologies, Infosys BPO today announced that it has received the 2010 Asian Shared Services Excellence award for ''Best New Outsourcing Services Delivery'' along with its client P&G.

The award recognises the outsourcing relationship between P&G Singapore customer service centre and Infosys BPO for order management and accounts receivable.

This is the second award that Infosys BPO has won along with P&G, the first being at the North American Shared Services Excellence Awards earlier this year.

A panel of independent industry experts, convened by Shared Services & Outsourcing Network (SSON), assessed the P&G-Infosys engagement.

''This is a great recognition of the professionalism, teamwork and collaboration between P&G and Infosys. This also emphasises our top-priority: operational excellence,'' said Patrick Arlequeeuw, vice president, global business services, P&G.

In another category, Asheesh Mehra, head of APAC and Middle East, Infosys BPO won the 2010 SSON Asia award in the ''Contribution to Industry Thought Leader'' category, which recognises thought leaders in the outsourcing industry who have transformed or helped forward the profession through major deals or strategic breakthroughs.

SSON is one of the largest and most established communities of shared services and outsourcing professionals, with over 35,000 members.

Set up in April 2002, Infosys BPO operates in India, the Czech Republic, China, the Philippines, Poland, Mexico, USA and Brazil.
