Railway plans more ‘Neer’ drinking water plants: Bansal

Presenting the railway budget to Parliament today, minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said Indian Railways is committed to ensure the security, safety and better passenger facilities, including sanitation in trains and at railway stations.

Bansal said in an off-speech comment that the railways is planning to set up six more Rail Neer drinking water bottling plants.

Bansal said that over the last four months, efforts have been stepped up to ensure better upkeep of the railway network and maximise passenger convenience.

 He also said work on the installation of bio-toilets in railway coaches is continuing.

 The railway minister admitted that people's demands for safe, convenient and secure travel in trains are justified.

He said his ministry is ''well aware'' of what is expected from it, and is diligently working to deliver better services.
