Railway minister Lalu Prasad began presenting the Interim Railway Budget 2009-10 and Supplementary Demands for Grants for railways in Parliament.
He highlighted the achievements of Indian Railways during the last five years and the passenger amenities introduced during the UPA government's tenure.
The minister pointed out that the passenger amenities had been raised, without raising fares.
He is currently highlighting the financial performance of Indian Railways during the current financial year and elaborating the new projects underway.
