Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the country's largest oil marketing company, today announced a Rs2.46 to Rs3.22 per litre reduction in the selling prices of petrol across the country effective midnight tonight.

The downward revision in prices, including state levies, vary from Rs2.46 a litre to Rs3.22 a litre depending upon the state taxes, IOC said in a release.

In Delhi, the price decrease will be down Rs2.46 at Rs67.78 a litre against Rs70.24. It is the lowest price as the impact of state tax is nil as petrol has been exempt from VAT / sales tax there.

In Mumbai the new price will be Rs73.35, down Rs3.10 from the existing Rs76.45 a litre.

In Chennai the new price will be Rs72.27, down Rs3.13 from Rs75.40 at present.
