Idea launches service in Kashmir valley

Adiya Birla mobile telecom arm, Idea Cellular, has expanded in Jammu & Kashmir by launching its services in 9 major districts in the Valley. Idea's 2.75G EDGE enabled network now covers 12 districts in the state of J&K.

The mobile telecom said that it now provided services from 300 cell sites in the Valley, in addition to its recently launched network in Jammu City, and surrounding areas.

In a  bid to compete with entrenched service providers in the state, it is also allowing mobile users in Kashmir a choice of  numbers to select the one they want.

Idea also aid that it has launched a special closed user group pack offering a highly subsidised call rate of 18 paisa per minute within a group, at a nominal rental of Rs18 per month.
