Wipro expands presence in Romania

Wipro Ltd yesterday said it plans to strengthen its presence in Romania and would increase its employee strength in the country by 25 per cent from 600 to 750 by December 2015.
Wipro has been supporting global customers from Eastern Europe for nearly a decade through its facilities in Romania, which serve over 20 customers in Eastern Europe.
Wipro's customers in Romania span across the retail and consumer goods, healthcare, manufacturing and telecom industries, among others.
Wipro expects to see significant traction across service lines in Romania, in the medium term.
TK Kurien, CEO and member of the board, Wipro Ltd says, ''Eastern Europe is poised to become a strategic delivery location for Wipro. We are building strong domain knowledge in key growth verticals and are hiring local talent with strong program management capabilities."
In Romania, Wipro has development centres in Bucharest and Timisoara. It is also in discussions with local universities to partner and develop curriculum for enhancing local capabilities.
