Mumbai: Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren yesterday said it has bagged an export order worth Rs 407 crore for supplying pipes to the El Sharara-Mellitah onshore pipeline in Libya. Export orders would be worth roughly Rs 550 crore out of the total Rs 750-crore-worth orders held by the company, a senior company official said.

Welspun hopes to "scale up" its export performance further. In India, it had recently bagged an order worth Rs 136 crore for ONGC''s Mumbai-Uran Trunk pipeline.

Welspun would have to supply 30-inch pipes of 400 km length of 14.30 mm and 11.30 mm thickness, by January 2005. The order was placed by the AGIP Oil Company Ltd, said a company statement.
