Mumbai: Travellers to Singapore from New Delhi and Chennai on Singapore International Airlines (SIA) flights will have additional frequencies to choose from starting 30 March 2008. From this date, the airline will be operating two additional flights from Delhi, and one from Chennai.

Currently, SIA has a daily operation from New Delhi and 10 times a week from Chennai.

The airline is interested in ramping up operations from Delhi into a double daily, subject to government approval. According to Chai Woo Foo, general manager, India, ''Along with Delhi, we are also intending to increase the frequency of our Bangalore flights to a double daily, or at least 12 times a week. All these possibilities are subject to government approvals.''

The airline is also considering aggressively promoting the Singapore Airlines website – www.singaporeair.com – in an effort to increase on-line bookings and revenue. The airline would launch promotional and media campaigns shortly.
