Bangalore: Royal Palms India has announced that it will construct retirement villages in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

Says Royal Palms Lifecare chairman Amir Nensey: “Ours will be a socio-economic project based on the models available worldwide.“ Residential Lifestyle Services, an Australia-based company that has experience of about 25 years in the field, will manage these three pilot projects.

In all the three metros, the villages will be located outside the city limits. Bhairavi, the village in Bangalore, is situated in the Eagleton Golf Village. The residents of Bhairavi can access the facilities currently offered by Eagleton, apart from other Royal Palms facilities such as meditation room, restaurant to cater to the health needs of the aged, 24-hour medical facility, library and in-house ambulance.

Nensey says the houses itself will be built to suit the needs of the aged. They include non-slippery floors, handrails in corridors, extra lighting in each room, daily bus trips to the city for shopping, regular picnics and excursions.
