launches Kannada printers

Wipro Infotech, one of India's largest manufacturers of Line Matrix and Dot Matrix printers has launched the country's first printer that can simultaneously print in Kannada and English.
With the local language printing becoming an emerging market in the country, Wipro has decided to enter into this growing segment with its first introduction. Besides, with computerisation rapidly moving to small towns and villages in the country, the need for transacting business in the local language is on the rise. Other language printers are likely to follow soon. The company seeks to offer the unique features of speed and superior print quality in these printers. The printers have been certified by the Kannada Ganaka Parishad, the certifying body for the IT developments in Kannada.
The Wipro LMP has the fastest Kannada printing speed, being five times faster than other printers. Thse printers deliver better quality in Kannada as they have the language fonts in-built in the printer. The company's DMP is the only printer that can currently print in eight languages: Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati, Tamil, Marathi, Hindi and English.
Wipro has developed the Kannada language printer in association with Printronix, a US based manufacturer and leader in Line Matrix printers. These printers are manufactured to exacting global standards and Wipro specifications by Printronix AG in Singapore.
