The Indian Railways Catering and Ticketing Corporation (IRCTC), the customer support arm of Indian Railways, will soon launch a new payment aggregator for those booking tickets on its website.

Customers booking tickets on IRCTC website will soon be able to make payments via IRCTC-iPay. The payment aggregator will be available at the ticketing arm's website from August.
IRCTC-iPay will provide all payment options like credit card, debit card, international card, auto debit, UPI, wallets etc.
“IRCTC's own payment Aggregator IRCTC-iPay will be available on https://t.co/K9ZxE5Qlmj by Aug-18 as PCI-DSS security certificate has been granted to IRCTC. IRCTC iPay provides all payment options like Credit Card, Debit Card, International Card, Auto Debit, UPI, Wallets etc,” IRCTC tweeted.
Last month, the ministry of railways launched an upgraded version of IRCTC website, to ensure smooth ticket-bookings and strengthen the online ticket reservation system.
The user can manage the payment options by marking six banks as preferred banks under the 'My Profile' section.
A user does not even need to log in to the new website to enquire or search for trains. Users can check on availability of seats unlike the older version that only allowed access to registered users.
Users can also perform multiple activities like cancellation, printing, request for an SMS, selection of an alternative train by exercising the "Vikalp" option and changing the boarding point, if required.
Nearly 1.3 million tickets are booked on the IRCTC website every day against a reserved accommodation of 1.05 million berths, as per official estimates.
