Infotech Enterprises bags multi million contract in Digital Aerial Imagery, in Los Angeles

Mumbai: The Los Angeles Region Imagery Acquisition Consortium (LAR-IAC), a consortium of 26 state and local government agencies within the county of Los Angeles, has selected Vargid LLC, a fully owned subsidiary of Infotech Enterprises Limited in US to provide digital aerial imagery data with GIS, web mapping system with computer aided design and engineering design applications.

Infotech will be providing digital imagery data and related photogrammetric services for the entire, 4100 square miles of Los Angeles country area. The consortium includes Los Angles country plus 25 cities and public sector organisations. Infotech will capturing data with three Zeiss / Intergraph Digital Mapping Cameras (DMC) systems and LiDAR, the most advanced digital aerial imagery technologies available today.

B V R Mohan Reddy Infotech's Chairman and CEO, said, "This will be a significant milestone for Infotech in the field of digital aerial imagery data with GIS applications. By using a multi-resolution approach, Infotech will efficiently capture the both urban and rural areas."

According to consortium project manager Milan Svitek, "The consortium was looking for a company that could both apply the latest aerial imagery technology to large quick-turnaround projects and manage the diverse interests and expectations of Consortium members."

Consortium members will use the highly accurate digital aerial imagery and other data with GIS, web-mapping systems, computer-aided design and engineering design applications.
Jon Fullinwider, CIO of Los Angeles County noted that, "The LAR-IAC project is a model of good government business practices which will provide high-quality imagery and mapping data while simultaneously saving taxpayers' money"

Established in 2005 by Los Angeles County's County Chief Information Office with assistance of the Department of Regional Planning, LAR-IAC is a model of good government business practices for large metropolitan areas.
