HDFC Bank''s unique cash-back card

Mumbai: HDFC Bank has launched the country''s first international gold debit card for customers across the country. HDFC gold debit card customers will receive a credit of Re1 for every Rs100 spent on the card, a comprehensive insurance cover of Rs5.70 lakh (including Rs 5 lakh for accidental death, Rs50,000 theft and fire cover for items purchased under debit card for up to six months and Rs20,000 baggage loss cover) and pay no surcharge at petrol pumps.

Gold debit cardholders can also withdraw cash and check balances through any Visa ATMs, or withdraw cash from Canara Bank and Bank of India branch. The annual fee per card is Rs500. The gold card holder can withdraw up to Rs25,000 per day from ATMs and can make purchases up to Rs50,000 per day at merchant outlets.

VISA Deputy Country Manager for South Asia Uttam Nayak feels that the debit card has come of age. "Today, there are over 17 million Visa debit cardholders in India growing at over 100 per cent annually. The HDFC Bank Gold International Debit Card has been specially created to cater to the travel needs of cardholders," he said.
