Corporation Bank opens 750th branch in Mumbai

The chairman and managing director of Corporation
Bank, Cherian Varghese, inaugurated the 750th branch of
the bank at Phoenix Mills compound, Lower Parel, in Mumbai
on Saturday.
Ashok Kumar Ruia, managing director of Phoenix Mills Ltd., inaugurated the bank''s ATM.
With this launch, the bank has achieved a unique combination of 750 branches and 750 ATMs, the only public sector bank to have equal number of branches and ATMs. In M umbai alone the bank has 149 service outlets comprising 59 computerised branches, six extension counters and 83 networked ATMs.
At present, 236 branches of the bank are "live" on ''core banking solution''.
The bank, which opened 28 branches during the current financial year, plans to open another 32 branches and take the number of ATMs progressively to 1,010 by the end of financial year 2004-05.
