BSNL now offers unlimited calls, 1GB daily data for 1 year for Rs999

State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has bought down its mobile tariff to a stupendous low, offering unlimited voice calls for 181 days and 1GB per day of data for all 365 days of the year for Rs999, extending the telecom tariff war started by Reliance Jio further.

Under the BSNL plan called 'Maximum' prepaid plan, users in India will get unlimited data access for 365 days and unlimited voice calls (Local and STD) for 181 days at Rs999.

Although unlimited free data is capped at 1GB per day, after the expiry of this cap, users can still get internet data at 40 kbps speeds.

All local, STD and roaming calls are free under the plan except in Delhi and Mumbai circles where BSNL does not operate. The new plan will also not be available in North-East India, including Assam and in Jammu and Kashmir circles.

Voice calls in these two circles will be priced at 60 paise per minute. For all other circles, voice calls will remain unlimited for the 181 days after the recharge.

Once the free voice call offer period is over in 181 days, voice calls will be charged at 60 paise per minute for both on-net and off-net calls.

Similarly, users will be able to avail 100 free SMS messages per day. However, after the expiry of 181 days, users will be charged 25 paise per local SMS and 35 paise per national SMS.
