Apple says will usher in “post-PC” era

At Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference today, Apple executives gave ample evidence of the strides they are taking to usher in the ''Post-PC'' era with perhaps the most happening in the direction being the iOS 5 and iCloud
Over the years, ''Post-PC'' has come to mean different things to different people but from Apple's perspective ''Post-PC'' is all about the ability to use devices like the iPhone and iPad as your personal computer.
Facilitating this movement would be technologies like the iCloud which basically works as a common hard drive that can be automatically accessed by all of users' devices and additionally synced automatically with them.
Apple watchers say that is the way Apple is seeking to usher in an iCloud utopia, which even Google seems to be working on with the Android operating environment on smartphones and tablets and the Chrome OS on upcoming Chromebooks. This comes in addition to apps like Google Docs on the PC.
Here are some of the pointers from statements made today by Scott Forstall, senior vice president of iPhone Software at Apple, and CEO Steve Jobs.
It may be pertinent to note that post-PC also refers to post-Mac, though Apple is not saying that explicitly.
