Hyderabad: Joining a growing list of firms all set to tap infrastructure projects in the country, its now the turn of Hyderabad-based IVRCL Infrastructure and Projects Ltd to bid for airport development projects in small cities and towns.

The company has already made a beginning with a bid to develop the Amritsar airport.

According to company officials, the company has partnered with a Spanish airport development firm for the purpose, whose name they have declined to divulge.

IVRCL may turn out to be a bidder with a difference, however, as it may not be interested in owning airport assets. It may rather bid for airport projects as building contracts if it finds the size of the contract attractive.

The company is currently evaluating non-metro projects.

IVRCL has built the passenger terminals at the existing airports at Hyderabad and Bangalore and has also bid to build new passenger terminals at the Chennai and Kolkata airports.
