New Delhi: Private carrier Jet Airways, the country's largest airline, said Friday it would develop Hyderabad as a mini-hub for its operations in south India and introduce 15 new flights to the city. Jet said it will link Hyderabad to Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, Jaipur and Nagpur from 27 March in the summer schedule.

The airline also plans to offer direct connections to Bhopal and Indore, apart from increasing frequencies to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Visakhapatnam and Chennai.

In a statement, Sudheer Raghavan, COO of Jet Airways, said the move to increase services to and from Hyderabad was aimed at meeting the growing tourist and business traffic.

Further, Jet said it will connect more destinations in central and northern India with its fleet of Boeing 737 and ATR 72 aircraft, which would enable it to provide a same day connection with the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata.

''We are confident that these new services would prove immensely popular from the capital city of Hyderabad and help further expansion of our services, which presently connect to over 47 domestic destinations and 24 international destinations across the globe,'' said Raghavan.
