New Delhi:  Jet Airways officials have confirmed that India's largest private carrier plans to launch its Mumbai-Shanghai-San Fransisco services from the first week of June, now that China has granted the permit to operate the route.

"We received the permit on Thursday. We plan to start our services to Shanghai and San Francisco from the first week of June," a Jet official official confirmed. He added that certain formalities were yet to be completed.

They also confirmed that they were in talks with several Chinese carriers for partnerships to provide connectivity in the region, along the lines of the one they have with Brussels Airlines for onward journey to other European cities.

Officials also confirmed that the airline would start operations with daily flights.
