Kingfisher – Deccan may have to wait till November for start of overseas operations

New Delhi: The Deccan-Kingfisher combine may have run into another unforeseen problem, with the country's civil aviation ministry now asking it to wait till November to start full scale operations overseas. According to reports, the ministry of civil aviation may have also asked the recently merged airline to cut down the number of destinations it would like fly to abroad, when it becomes eligible to start overseas operations from 26 August.
According to reports, ministry officials have pointed out to the airline that its permission to fly abroad, which becomes effective from the end of August, falls at the fag end of the summer schedule. With the airline seeking to start operations mid-schedule, the government would be able to allot only a limited number of slots.
Apparently, the ministry has asked the newly merged airline to be realistic and plan for full-scale operations only from November, which marks the start of the winter schedule.
The summer schedule runs its course from April to November.
