Mumbai: Global IT services provider NIIT Technologies Ltd has said it will collaborate with Air India and Singapore Airport Terminal Services (AI-SATS) to implement a cargo operations system (Cosys) to support the cargo handling operations at the Bengaluru International Airport. Cosys is a cargo management system that can work with the airline cargo reservations system.

Announcing the collaboration Monday, Ranjiv Ramanathan, senior vice president (cargo) of AI-SATS, said: "The implementation of the Cosys is required to ensure quicker processing of the cargo and will boost the operational efficiency of the AI-SATS airport services."

AI-SATS is a joint venture between the National Aviation Company of India Ltd (NACIL) and Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) to provide professional ground handling services at Indian airports.

According to Ramanathan, Cosys will facilitate better monitoring and enhanced control of the end-to-end cargo handling operations. "The system will improve staff productivity by reducing process redundancies, thus resulting in enhanced customer experience," he added.
