AAI short-lists six companies for Kolkota, Chennai airports revamp

Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has apparently shortlisted six companies for executing the Rs3,800-crore Chennai and Kolkata airports modernisation projects. These include domestic engineering major, Larsen & Toubro.

According to sources, the shortlisted companies include ITD (Hong Kong), Ssangyong (Malaysia) and M/s TAV Tepe Akfen (Turkey).

AAI is learnt to have also shortlisted three companies as project management consultants, including the US-based Louis Berger Group.

The Kolkata airport will be modernised at a cost of Rs2,000 crore and Chennai for Rs1,800 crore.
