Air India Express to offer low-cost services on domestic routes from September

Mumbai: Air India Express will launch low-cost domestic services from mid-September connecting the country's metro destinations with 20 other cities.

"We will launch the low-cost service of Air India Express on domestic routes from mid-September," a NACIL official informed agencies.

The ambitiously designed service will see the launch of low-cost services from 24 cities with a mix of both metro and non-metro routes. Officials said the service will provide 161 flights a week.

Air India Express is the low cost service of national carrier Air India which operates connects Indian cities to destinations in South-East Asia and the Middle-East.

Officials said, though a low-cost service, light refreshments would be served to passengers on the new services.
