Jet Airways has entered into a code sharing agreement with sister airline JetLite, which will see the latter adding its extensive domestic network to Jet Airways' global route network. The agreement is to be implemented in two phases, making JetLite's domestic network available for sale under the Jet Airways' code (9W) for tickets purchased at all international points across the globe.

The partnership will enable both carriers to boost online connectivity, with a higher presence on global GDS screens. This process was initiated with the migration of JetLite to Jet Airways' reservations platform in September 2008.

Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, chief executive officer of Jet Airways, said: "With the code-share agreement between Jet Airways and JetLite, passengers will enjoy unbeatable connectivity between India and several international destinations, besides lower fares and several other benefits. Consequently, higher revenues, enhanced online connectivity and resultant synergistic benefits would accrue for both carriers."
