Singapore Airlines accepts delivery of sixth Airbus A380

Singapore Airlines has received its sixth A380 aircraft from Airbus yesterday. 

The sixth A380 will let Singapore Airlines operate a second daily flight on the Singapore-London route, effective 20 September, 2008. The second daily A380 service will depart Singapore as flight SQ 318, and return from London as flight SQ 321. the current daily service is operated as SQ 322 (Singapore-London) and SQ 317 (London-Singapore)

With the deployment of the A380s into service in October 2007, the aircraft has been used on routes from Singapore with high capacity demand. Singapore Airlines operates a daily A380 flight between Sydney and Singapore, and Tokyo and Singapore.

Having accepts the sixth A380 into its fleet, Singapore Airlines has 13 A380s remaining to be delivered on firm order, and has options on another six. Singapore Airlines was the first airline globally to operate the A380.
