Singapore Airlines reduces fuel surcharges on certain sectors

New Delhi: Singapore Airlines has announced a reduction of $10 in fuel surcharges to India and a few other short and medium-haul sectors in East and South-East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Gulf.

This cut in fuel surcharge is effective from 10 September, and is a result of the global jet fuel prices easing. 

For passengers, a return ticket between India and Singapore will have $100 billed as fuel surcharge, instead of the erstwhile $110 per sector. Consequently passengers stand to save $20 for a return trip on the India – Singapore sector. 

Surcharges have been reduced from $40 to $36 for flights between Singapore and South-East Asian cities, and have been cut from $110 to $100 on services to Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Maldives and other select destinations.

Surcharges remain unchanged for flights to the US, Canada, Europe and South Africa, at the level of $180 on flights to US and Canada and $110 to cities in South Africa, and Europe. The surcharges also remain unchanged for flights between North America and Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, Frankfurt and Moscow.
