Embraer to promote Phenom 100 VLJ in India

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, Embraer, the world's fourth largest aircraft manufacturer, has launched a promotional tour of its small aircraft, the Phenom 100, in India. The Phenom 100 Very Light Jet (VLJ) seats four persons and costs $4 million.

Company officials said they have 30 firm orders from India for the aircraft, staggered for Phenom 100 VLJdelivery over a period of two to three years. This large booking, worth around $150 million, has prompted Embraer to showcase the VLJ in India.

As part of the promotional tour, the company will display the aircraft at seven cities across the country before ferrying it to Singapore and Australia.

According to company officials, to date, they have received 750 firm orders for the Phenom 100 from across the world.

They also confirmed that the company had invested $250 million on the project and expected to recover the amount over a period of 15 years.

Since 2005, Embraer has invested $100 million to deploy 40 service centres across the world.

Indamer Company Pvt Ltd will be Embraer's authorised service centre in India.

Amongst its India customers are Aviators India Pvt Ltd, an air taxi service, which is the first and the largest client in the region. It operates two Phenom 100 and has a total of 20 such aircraft on order.
