Embraer delivers 204 planes

Embraer has announced the delivery of a record 204 jets in 2008, which is 20.7 per cent higher than the 169 reported in 2007. The 2008 delivery comprises 162 commercial aircraft, 36 executive jets, and six for government use.

Year-end backlog was valued at $20.9 billion, and included 426 commercial aircraft. Commercial aircraft deliveries during 2008 comprised six ERJ-145s, nine E-170s, but the major deliveries were the E-175 (55), E-190 (78) and E-195 (14).

The Brazilian manufacturer added British Airways subsidiary BA CityFlyer to its list of customers during the fourth quarter with an order for six E-170s and five E-190s. It also delivered the first E-190s to KLM Cityhopper and Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras.
