Tatas to set up first defence aerospace hub near Hyderabad

The Tata Group will set up the country's first defence and civil aerospace hub at Aadibhatla, near Hyderabad. Speaking during the inauguration of the India Aviation-2008 at the Begumpet Airport on Wednesday, chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy said Group company Tata Advance Systems would invest Rs500 crore to set up the aerospace hub in a proposed special economic zone.

The aerospace facility will manufacture radar and satellite systems.

The Andhra Pradesh Government would provide 50 acres of land to the Tatas at the SEZ located near the hardware park to set up the aerospace hub.
