Gulfstream G450 business jet sets city-pair speed record

Savannah: Gulfstream Corp has said that a large-cabin, long-range Gulfstream G450 business jet recently established a city-pair speed record between Queen Beatrix International Airport in Oranjestad, Aruba, and Barcelona International Airport in Spain. The aircraft flew 4,374 nautical miles in 8 hours, 56 minutes, at an average speed of Mach 0.80 with no headwinds.
The aircraft landed with 3,900 pounds of fuel remaining.
The G450 aircraft entered service in May 2005 and in the week after entering service it established a new intercontinental city-pair speed record with a flight of 3,550nm from Chicago to London in seven hours and fifteen minutes.
In November 2005 the G450 set another new city-pair speed record, flying 3,290nm from Washington DC, to Luton, England, in six hours and 12 minutes, at an average speed of Mach 0.85.
Piloting the G450 was Jaime Bahamon, international demonstration captain. Ross Oetjen, senior international demonstration captain, served as co-pilot. The flight also carried flight attendant Lori Starbuck and nine other passengers.
