Northrop signs MoUs with BEL, Dynamatic Tech

Bangalore: The Northrop Grumman Corporation announced that it had signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Bangalore-based public sector unit Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), as well as with Dynamatic Technologies Ltd, also based in Bangalore. Both MoUs are to explore business opportunities jointly on potential co-production opportunities in support of the Indian government's current and future aerospace and defence electronics requirements, as well as Northrop Grumman's international market requirements.

Northrop MQ-8B Fire Scout"This agreement will build on the individual strengths of our two world-class organisations to expand business opportunities in India," said Brian J Morra, sector vice president of business development and strategic planning for Northrop Grumman's Electronic Systems sector, a world-leading provider of advanced military radar, electronic warfare and other avionics systems, about his company's MoU with BEL. He said that Northrop also looked forward to working closely with Dynamatic Technologies to help meet the advanced technology aerospace and defence product and service needs identified by the Indian ministry of defence.

"Our partnership with Northrop Grumman will create innovative and hi-tech solutions for foreign manufacturers seeking Indian partners, and also provide contract manufacturing support for Northrop," said K Prakash, BEL's general manager for international marketing. He said that BEL could offer 'build to print' as well as 'build to spec' solutions at its nine ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facilities.

Udayant Malhoutra, CEO and managing director of Dynamatic Technologies Limited, said he was delighted to be working with Northrop Grumman to identify and pursue opportunities to serve India's defence needs. The formal agreements were signed in ceremonies at the ongoing Aero India air show and exposition at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bangalore.

Dynamatic Aerospace, a division of Dynamatic Technologies, is recognised Indian private sector player for the development of complex aerostructures. The company has worked on key projects, including India's pilotless target aircraft 'Lakshya', the HJT-36 Intermediate Jet Trainer and the Sukhoi-30 MK1 fighter-bomber.
