ESPN STAR Sports gets a new MD

New Delhi: Manu Sawhney has been appointed managing director of ESPN STAR Sports.

He succeeds Jamie Davis, who tendered his resignation, but will continue to serve as a consultant.

In a company statement, Russell Wolff, managing director, ESPN International, and Paul Aiello, CEO, STAR, said Mr Sawhney''s background and experience in sports broadcasting was unparalleled.

Sawhney has been with ESPN STAR Sports since its inception. Commenting on his appointment, he said that he has truly enjoyed the excitement and challenges in sports broadcasting throughout my career at ESPN STAR Sports, and is fortunate to have played a part in its fantastic growth over the years.
