Mumbai: Dileep C Choksi, vice chairman of Deloitte Haskins & Sells has resigned from the firm and its network firms C C Chokshi & Co., and P C  Hansotia & Co., ending a 35-year stint with the firms.

In a statement about his resignation, Dileep said, ''I have made the very difficult decision to resign from the firm to take on new challenges at this stage in my professional career. It has been a long journey of 35 years from when I joined C C Chokshi & Co, which was founded by my father, and with Deloitte thereafter. I would like to wish Udayan, the leadership team and everyone at Deloitte all the best in the years ahead and I look forward to a continued association with Deloitte going forward.'' No details were forthcoming about the reasons behind his decision to move on.

Udayan Sen, CEO and managing partner, Deloitte Haskins & Sells, said, ''On behalf of Deloitte, I wish to thank Dileep for his service and dedication to our firm. We have benefited enormously from Dileep's business insights and understanding of the Indian business environment.  I am particularly grateful for the support he has provided me over the past few years."

Dileep has held several key leadership roles in the past, including leader of the Tax and Financial Advisory functions and Joint Managing Partner. He has played a significant role in developing Deloitte's strategy in India.
