Bharat Mobility Expo: India’s first air taxi, flex fuel cars and lots of EVs

The first two days of Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 saw the launch of over 90 products offering advanced mobility solutions and auto components.
On display is also the India’s first air taxi, Shunya, manufactured by Sarla Aviation.
Apart from electric vehicles, the expo saw a slew of Tata Motors and Hyundai coming out with flex fuel models that runs on ethanol. The Tata Puch has come out with an ICE engine that can run on 100 per cent ethanol while Hyunda’s Creta has added a pure ethanol model.
Hyundai has also unveiled concept models of electric three-wheelers and micro four-wheelers.
The Expo, spread across three locations - Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi and Dwarka – in the national capital, saw automakers from across the world showcasing a variety of advanced vehicles, ranging from superbikes and cars to buses and trucks.
The Expo also, for the first time, saw Vietnamese EV maker VinFast Auto coming out with a range of electric vehicles, including the VF3, a small 2-door electric SUV with a claimed range of 215 km and a 10 inch infotainment screen, manual AC and front power windows.
VinFast has also displayed its VF e34, which is equipped with a 41.9 kWh battery pack and a 150 PS electric motor, offering a range of 277 km. Also on display are its VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs.
BMW India has showcased its high-end models like the Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works Pack and BMW X3, while BMW Motorrad India is showing off the BMW S 1000 RR and the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure.
JSW MG Motor India has displayed nine models, including the MG Majestor - hybrid electric, plug-in hybrid and battery electric models, as also the internal combustion engine model.
Eka Mobility has brought a range of electric commercial vehicles, including buses, trucks, and small commercial vehicles.
JBM Electric Vehicles unveiled four electric buses, including a luxury coach and a medical mobile unit.
Montra Electric has displayed two electric small commercial vehicle models.
Pinnacle Industries has showcased three different ambulance models for special needs, including neonatal care.
Numeros Motors has come with an e-scooter, called Diplos Max and a bike-scooter crossover.
Vayve Mobility has introduced a solar power-backed battery electric car, ‘Eva,’ priced between Rs3.25 lakh and Rs5.99 lakh, based on the battery capacity.
A roof-mounted solar panel allows the Vayve Eva charge its battery, giving an additional 10 km range each day.
SML Isuzu has showcased the Hiroi.EV, as also ambulances and tippers.
Cummins India has showcased its HELM engines as also a hydrogen fuel delivery system.
Godawari Electric Motors has brought in an array of electric vehicles, including the Eblu Rozee ECO, priced as low as Rs2,95,999.
Motovolt Mobility has introduced an e-bike conversion kit as also several electric vehicle models, including a motorbike with digital pedal.
Olectra GreenTech has introduced buses with blade battery platforms, a change from boxy batteries.
Omega Seiki Pvt Ltd has brought the electric truck M1KA 1.0, with a price tag of Rs6,99,000, besides other vehicle models.
ICON Autocraft is displaying advanced automotive solutions, while ZF unveiled its digital fleet management platform, SCALAR and X-by-Wire technology. Supreme has come out with high-performance audio products.
ASK Automotive unveiled new products under the AISIN ASK range, marking its entry into the four-wheeler passenger car market.
The event demonstrated a focus on innovation, sustainability, and advanced mobility solutions across various segments, setting a strong precedent for the future of mobility in India.
The focus seems to have shifted to heavy commercial vehicles and innovative products and newer areas of operation, in what can be termed as a maturing of the mobility technology in the country.
