US private equity firm Carlyle Group today agreed to buy a Japanese sanitation unit from the US food packaging company Sealed Air Corp, for a reported $377 million.

Washington-based Carlyle which has $156 billion of assets under management, will acquire Diversey G.K., a provider of cleaning and hygiene products and services in the Japanese market.
