BOB felicitates three young achievers

Vinod Rai, Director, Bank of Baroda                                    presenting an award for outstanding young achievers to Koneru Humpy, the renowned Indian Chess playerMumbai: On the occasion of its 97th Foundation Day, Bank of Baroda felicitated three young achievers — Alok Kejriwal, Koneru Humpy and Shantanu Mukherjee (''Shaan'') - who have excelled in their chosen fields.

Alok Kejriwal has earned national fame through his portal www.contests2win.com which now operates across three countries; Koneru Humpy, the Indian chess prodigy and winner of innumerable awards is the world''s youngest grandmaster and the youngest to win the British Chess Championship; and Shantanu Mukherjee, popularly known as ''Shaan'' who has taken the music world by storm with a string of super hits and anchors a popular TV show.

Speaking on the occasion, P.S. Shenoy, chairman and managing director, Bank of Baroda said, "Bank of Baroda serves over 25 million customers spread across the globe through its 2730 branches with a total business of Rs.108,000 crores as on 31st March, 2004. The Bank has an uninterrupted profit record for 96 years. It has now embarked on a technology driven strategy that understands the growing needs of the new generation."
