Bank of Baroda net up 99% to Rs 546 crore

New Delhi: Bank of Baroda (BoB) has declared a net profit of Rs 545.93 crore for 2001-02 a 98.8-per cent rise over the previous years net of Rs 274.66 crore. The gross profit rose by 26.3 per cent to Rs 1,309.26 crore from Rs 1,036.47 crore.

BoB chairman and managing director P S Shenoy says the improved performance was on account of the focus on treasury operations, new-risk management initiatives, fine-tuning internal operations and the prudent control on expenses.
