Cathay Pacific Airways assists in home building in Delhi village

Hong-kong based Cathay Pacific Airways and Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi have joined hands with the NGO Habitat for Humanity to build houses for the underprivileged at Bawana village, 40km from Delhi on Sunday.

25 Cathay Pacific Airways staff and volunteers ffrom Habitat for Humanity aided in constructing walls and casting of septic tank for the benefit of underprivileged people in Bawana village.

''This is in keeping with our continuous efforts in working with charitable organisations to support worthwhile causes,'' said Ashish Kapur, regional manager, cargo, India, Middle East, Africa, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Cathay Pacific Airways.

The airline had earlier worked with the NGO at the Mijkarwadi Village near Mumbai as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Habitat for Humanity, India is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to eliminating poverty housing among the most marginalised and vulnerable sections of society.
