Mumbai: Ford India has announced the winners of the Ford Conservation and Environmental grants for the year 2001.

Adult category
Madras Crocodile Bank Trust
Madras Crocodile Bank Trust is a centre for herpetology that has a unique collection of reptiles. The project called 'Integrated Environment Education' is on reptile preservation - a multilingual programme to raise environmental consciousness on reptile conversation, snakebite treatment, tree-planting and sustainable use of wildlife resources.

Wildlife Society of Orissa
Wildlife Society of Orissa, a registered non-profit society, has been awarded under the Environment Education category for 'Operation Kachhapa,' a project on the preservation of sea turtles of the Gahirmatha coast in Orissa. The grant amount will be used to establish a turtle interpretation centre for education on turtle biology.
