Facebook strengthens India team

Social networking site Facebook has begun hiring for its Hyderabad office. It has brought on board Kirthiga Reddy and Manoj Varghese as director, online operations and director, user operations respectively.

Reddy was vice-president and general manager of software development firm Phoenix Technologies.  She has 14 years of work experience and has worked with Motorola.

At Facebook, Reddy will be responsible for expanding the reach of the network in terms of users, advertisers and developers.

Varghese comes in from Google, where he was the director, people operations. He was the HR head at Dell International Services, Hyderabad and managed staff appointments for Dell India.

Varghese's work portfolio also shows stints with Infosys technologies and Maruti Suzuki.

He will be responsible for building a user support team to service the 8 million active users of Facebook in India.
