EADS sees first flight for military transport plane in September

Paris: Airbus' parent group, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) sees the Airbus A400M military transport plane that has seen delays of six to 12 months taking off for its first flight in September, according to its executive head Louis Gallois.

"Our teams are mobilised to have it fly in September," said Louis Gallois, chief executive at the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company. The first fully built A400M is scheduled to leave a factory in Seville, Spain on 26 June.

The A400M programme is presently between six to 12 months behind schedule. The French air force is scheduled to take the first delivery of the aircraft during the first half of 2010. Airbus' superjumbo program A380 too is behind schedule.
