US Exim Bank may finance Nigerian airlines for aircraft purchases

Officials of the American Exim Bank are expected in Nigeria in November to meet airline operators in Nigeria. The trade mission seeks to find ways of supporting and financing airlines for acquisition of aircraft and spare parts.

A representative of the Nigerian Ministry of Aviation said a delegation will visit the United States this week to participate in the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) conference, where support for Nigerian airlines is expected to be discussed.

Recently the director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Dr Harold Demuren was in Dublin , Ireland, to ratify the international convention on access to cheap funds for aircraft acquisition by local airlines.
