New DGMs for Karnataka Bank
Mangalore: Karnataka Bank Ltd has promoted three of its Assistant General Managers to the rank of Deputy General Manager. A bank release said here on Wednesday that Srinivasa Holla P.R., Prasanna Kumar B. and Samaga V.M., have been promoted to the rank of Deputy General Manager. While Holla and Mr Samaga are currently heading the Bangalore and Mumbai regions of the bank, respectively, Prasanna Kumar is working at the data centre of the bank in Bangalore, the release added.

New GSA India Chapter Chairman
Bangalore: The Global Mobile Suppliers Association has appointed A. Sethu Raman, Director, Marketing & Business Development, Alcatel South Asia, as Chairman of the GSA India Chapter from this month. The GSA India Chapter is a co-operative vendor-led effort with the active participation of Alcatel, Ericsson, Nokia and Siemens to support the development of GSM/GPRS/EDGE/ WCDMA services in India. The Chapter brings information and clarity on key industry issues about GSM.

Umesh Chandra to lead TNS offshore research
New Delhi: Umesh Chandra has been appointed as the new head of TNS India's Offshore Research Services Centre (ORSC), based in Hyderabad. Chandra brings to TNS a 20-year work experience spanning project management, computer software and computer-related marketing information system and even aeronautics, according to a company release. TNS India deals with off-shoring business in the market research industry. The division was started in 2000 and offers a comprehensive set of services to market research companies overseas.

Shankar is new CFO for Cranes Soft
Bangalore: Cranes Software International Ltd (CSIL), a global scientific and engineering software products and solutions provider, has appointed H. Shankar as Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. He was earlier associated with a few leading corporates, including Saint Gobain, where he was the Managing Director of one of its Indian companies.

V.K. Magapu is whole time director on L&T board
Mumbai: Vijay Kumar Magapu, Chief Executive Officer of Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd, the information technology business of L&T, has been appointed whole-time director on the board of L&T. In addition to leading L&T Infotech, Magapu is L&T's Chief Information Officer as well as e-commerce officer. He has helped in devising and implementing IT strategies across the company.

Kwatra is new chief of Motorola India
New Delhi: Motorola has announced the appointment of Parmindra Kwatra as Country Head, Director & General Manager for its telecom infrastructure business in India. Kwatra joins Motorola from Siemens Public Communication Networks, where he served as Vice-President and Head of Sales, Mobile Networks, for India and neighbouring countries. In his new assignment, he will be responsible for strengthening and growing Motorola's infrastructure business in the country.
