New disinvestment secretary

New Delhi: In a major reshuffle of secretaries, the Indian government has appointed Dhirendra Singh as the new disinvestment secretary in place of S S Meenakshi Sundaram.

Singh was special secretary (procurement), ministry of defence. Sundaram will become the financial advisor and ex-officio secretary in place of S Prabhakaran, who has retired.

R R Shah, who was secretary, department of IT, has been shifted to the department of industrial policy and promotion in place of V Govindarajan, who has also retired.

K K Jaswal from the ministry of statistics and programme implementation is the new secretary in place of Shah at the IT department. In the ministry of power, the new special secretary is A N Tiwari, who was the additional secretary and financial adviser in the department of commerce. He replaces M M K Sardana.
